At the time I elected to have my PVP, I had to find my own doctor.  (Mine
had scheduled me for a consult with a TURP guy, that's all they do around
here,  and I had to wait for 9 months just to see him.  Or, as they told me,
and they were serious!!: "after you are rushed to the hospital 3 times with
serious prostate-bladder problems, they'll do it on an "emergency" basis".
I took matters into my own, hands, (no pun intended!), and I contacted the
head office of the company selling the PVP, (check the Web).   They gave me
the e-mail of their closest rep.    I contacted the rep and he put me onto 2
PVP doctors who had their practice about a 2-1/2 hour drive from my home.  I
phoned and accepted an appointment with the first doctor.   I got in for a
consult within 4 days.   They scheduled my PVP operation at my convenience,
knowing that I was a visitor to their city.   I thought I'd needs lots of
recuperation time, so scheduled later in the year when my job was sort of
cooling off for the year.   (Didn't need to do that, though.)   I checked
into a hotel the night before, had the operation at about noon the next day,
and my wife and I drove away from the hospital at 3:30-ish.  I had a leg
bag/catheter and the ride home was no problem at all.  I would have been
able to stand (sit?) a much longer trip since I had the leg catheter.
Thus, I could have handled an airplane or longer car ride.  Best of luck to
you in finding someone.   For me, the search and the decision was well worth
it.   And, no, I do NOT own any stocks or any piece of the action with or
for any PVP companies.   I'm just damn glad I made the choices that I had.
Since then I had several doctors remark about how well I have "managed my
own case".   I hope your situation works as well as mine did.   Wishing you
the very best of success and outcomes.

There's a wonderful urologist in Tucson, Az.  His name is Dr. Dalkin.
He did a PVP on me a couple of years ago.  Very simple procedure and
recovery was quick.  I'm still enjoying the benefits.
