spinal, IV, general, local, or some other? What have people had, and what do
they think is best?

I had general and it was a piece of cake. Previously had spinal for an
Indigo procedure and I found the post-operative paralysis very distressing,
other folks seem to prefer that. Jim W.

I had a spinal for one of my prostate procedures and I will never
willingly have another spinal. The post op paralysis was a terrible
thing for me to go through. For every other surgical procedure I have
insisted that I be put to sleep. I know other people who think the
spinal is great. I most emphatically do not.

I had PVP on 8/17/05 under general anesthetic and no pain at all after
surgery. I am a happy camper of PVP with peak flow of 35 ml/s vs <<5 ml/s.
Go for it. Good luck to you.

Best to discuss pros and cons with your doctor. I know that seems obvious,
but nobody here can really answer that one or provide anything that will
help you out. Your physical and mental concerns need to be assessed by
your doctor. (I had a local when I went for my PVP and it was the best thing
I ever did...)
