I have been on 5 mg of Hytrin for about 3 years, and lately the side effect
of nasal congestion has got worse. Awaking at night, after breathing through
my mouth has resulted in a very dry mouth. The annoyance and displeasure on
finding a dry, dry mouth and throat area is indeed troublesome. The relief
is having a glass of water at my bedside every night, so as to take a slug,
and wet my mouth.
A side issue, with the blocked nose, is getting to sleep which I am coping
with.
Has anybody any suggestions, by which I can somehow, keep my nose clear
throughout the night.

I remember using the saline (mostly water) nasal spray. It wasn't perfect,
but it helped. I used to get up so often, that I was able to use the saline
spray several times a night.
