I've read some reports about the effectiveness of beta sitosterol in this group. I have looked for it in pharmacies, Wal-Mart, GNC but have not found it or anything that lists it as an ingredient. Can someone tell me under what name it is marketed and where one can buy it. More importantly, does it work? Mihcael Ed, Thanks. I followed your web address leads and found two products. One was called Beta Sitosterol Power and the other was Super Prostate Power. I went to the Nature's Herbs web site but didn't find those products in their offering. I emailed them to ask them about it and here's their response. "Thank you for your interest in Twinlab. Unfortunately, Nature's Herbs Beta Sitosterol Power and Super Prostate Power have been discontinued. This decision was based on poor sales. If you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to contact our consumer affairs department at 800-645-5626." It consists of several sterols, including 120 mg of Beta Sitosterol. I've been taking two a day, along with Saw Palmetto, for about 4 years -- the Saw Palmetto even longer. Does it help? Good question. It would take a legitimate double blind study to say. I'm up 2 to 3 times a night, and rarely not at all. I seem to not have gotten worse, and am maybe a little better. I guess I think it helps, and as a bonus I believe it has a small effect on my cholesterol. At $4 for a one month supply, I don't have much to lose.
