I am 13 weeks post PVP and still having problems with flow and have been
unable to come off Flomax. The URO wanted me to take a wait and see approach
for the next 6 mos. He said the PVP is about 90% sucessful and I may be in
the 10% where it does not help me. I am also a diabetic and I am wondering if
maybe there never was a need for the PVP and that maybe my kidneys may not be
functioning properly and not the prostate. I have had no tests of any kind on
my kidneys other than a sonogram. Anyone out there had a similar problem?

My PVP was 3/18, so I am at the same recovery point and also have
insufficient flow and still getting up 3-4 times at night. I am off of
Hytrin, but my uro wants to wait another month to see what the situation
is at 4 months (which he says is usually his checkpoint)

So far, the improvement at this point is slight, and compares with the
results I had on hytrin.  My theory is that maybe my bladder has been
affected by years of straining. My retention before surgery was minimal
and we have not measured it since.

Sounds like your symptom and mine are identical. Would be interested in
knowing how it turns out at 4 mos. Thanks.
