Will be 6 weeks post PVP on April 6. Find that when I get up after
sitting in the recliner or from lying down, that I get a most insistent
urge to urinate "right now." Anyone else experience this? How long
does it last?

Chockman,
At 10 weeks after PVP, I do get the same thing.
I think that when we stand up, the full bladder
puts a presure on the wounded prostate and creates this
feeling. The prostate is so sensitive that it looks
to 'pick a fight' with the least provocation.
I learned that if I ignore this 'I got to go now'
feeling for a few minutes, it goes away by itself.
Keep in mind, that it is my opinion only and
every prostate is different.

The urgency situation usually improves about 3 or 4 months post PVP, though
it depends on the individual case.
