Am 61 yr old who had Prostatron TUMT on July 2, 2004. Had PVP in
Portland, OR Feb 23,2005. No bleeding or shedding of tissue after
first 12 hrs. Had to catheterize x3 1st 12 hrs. Followed the Drs
orders for Pyridium and Bactrim DS for the first week. Some burning
during the first week, but no pain needing the Tylenol #3 except to put
the feeling of urgency to sleep at bedtime. I am amazed how painless
the procedure has been. At this point, I don't have that pre bedtime
urgency like I did with the TUMT or with the PVP the first couple of
weeks. Did road test Mar 14..no retro, but missed the contractions of
ejaculation. Over the last week, the contractions have started to come
back with a small amount of ejaculate. As Spread deMocracy advised, the
sexual function will return gradually over the next 2 months.
Experience seems to support his advice. Good flow. No retention. Still
occasions when getting up from lying down or from sitting in the
recliner, that urgency hits...but good flow on those occasions. Back
exercising on the treadmill and working in the garden. Overall, I am
pleased with the procedure and the outcome! Any questions should be
directed to me chockman@canby.com

Had my PVP on 3/18, and my results are similar to yours, fast recovery,
little pain...However, I do not see a large improvement in flow rate.
I measured it at 200ml in 30 seconds, which does not seem to be a large
improvement.
Did flow increase over time as you recovered?
