For quite a while, I've been waking up earlier and earlier. Got so I'd
wake up at dawn every day, even without an alarm clock. The past couple
of days that behavior totally reversed, and I went back to my more
typical pattern, easily sleeping to 9 or later.
I figure I must be depressed, or maybe a depression is lifting. Can't
decide which.
Maybe I need vitamins.

Strangely enough, I don't think you're depressed.

You have to look at other aspects (somatic and emotional) to decide if
you're depressed. If you're into self-diagnosis, why not look in the DSM?

why would you think you are depressed if your sleep pettern changed
for a couple of weeks. do you feel depressed, loss of appetite,
interest etc.
