I am a 51-year-old Asian male.  On the morning of Nov. 10, 2003, my
speech became stuttering. I went to the hospital emergency the next
day, and was told having a stroke. I was administered 0.2 mm
clonidine.  Shortly after taking the medicine my body was feeling
numbing.  The right side is worse than the left side.  I also became
extremely weak and drowsy.

Then my left side became better.  The numbness eventually was gone.
But the right side became numb, stiff, tight and painful.  I suspected
I was overdosed clonidine. The medication decreased my blood pressure
too much, so another stroke hit me.

Could anybody tell me something about clonidine?  Thanks.

> Could anybody tell me something about clonidine?  Thanks.  its an alpha 2
agonist which works on the nucleus tractus solitarus,  in the medulla
juxtapositioned to the vasomotor center which is also in the medulla
oblongata. the NTS provides negative feedback to the VMC so when the NTS is
stimulated, centrally induced decrease in BP ensues,  also juxtapositioned
neurons may also initially result in sedation.
