Hi,

as an interested nonprofessional (german) user I'm looking for
information about the difference between chemical drugs /
psychopharmaca and the drugs the human body uses (love, sex,
happyness).

Any info is apreciated also weblinks, books etc.

Thanks
Frank

I think claiming that love, sex and happyness are drugs is a big jump.
Drugs can hijack the systems used in the brain responsible for love sex
and/or happyness, but that dosen't make any of those human actions drugs.

My knowledge in this subject is really poor, but as I read e.g.
morphium is very similar to as endorphine (endo morphine) the body
produces.
MDMA in EXTASY Drugs activates a massive body own output of serotonin.
Meds like Sinemet for the treatment of parkinson consists of L-Dopa
which is converted to dopamin in the brain.
Natural dopamin - as I know - is pretty much responsible for many
emotional / motivational processes for the human

So I asked myself where the differences are and what these substances
/ reactions have in commom.
And I am looking for serious information on this subject.

p.s. sorry I just know the german names for the substances...

Yes, but the compounds are released like drugs, neurotransmitters like
endorphine, dopamine and serotonin are signalling molecules. All drugs
(nearly) mimic naturally released compounds, but that dosen't mean that
any of the naturally released compounds have the same role as the drug in
the body.
