i hear only 6 grams of tylenol is safe for a 24 hour  period and only
1350 mg of aleve for a 24 hour period. doesnt it depend on ones body
weight?

I've always been told 4 grams a day... but it depends on the person.
Some reports show that 10 grams has been ok.  My dr keeps me under 4grams.
My liver is frequently checked and so far, so good.

I read where if you are in your 60's or older, then about 2.6 Grams is the
maximum recommended.

question please
I have to take Hydrocodone   10/325mg
How many grams would be in 4 tablets ? and 6 ?
                    thanks

a gram is a thousand mg..so  4 tablets is  .040 grams and 1.3 grams  6 is
.060 grams and 1.95 grams..It is generally accepted that a normal healthy
adult can take up to 4 grams of APAP a day..the older you get the less your
liver functions as well as it used to and the less APAP you can take or have
to take....so the 2.6 grams for the elderly is about right.

thanks .. so ball park .. keeping Hydrocodone UNDER 12 tabs a day is the rule.
My max so far is 4 tabs ..so I'm way under .
I read that to prevent nauseous to take with food..but that that cuts down the
effectiveness.. is this true ? I have to take it with a couple of crackers, but
I sure don't want to diminish the pain relief. Would just milk be better ?
        many thanks !

sorry I forgot to ask..
I was reading online (RXLIST.COM) and read that if Hydrocodone makes
you nauseous that you can take it with food. (this does help me a lot)
BUT I read that taking it with food can cut down the effectiveness of
the medication. Is this true? and would milk be beneficial instead of
food? and not lessen the effect of the medication ?
         many thanks
