Hello, could someone please tell me where
I could find the package inserts for medicines
my doctor would prescribe me. My pharmacy does
not provide them, in any event I would like to
read them online.
I have found several places online that describe
various medicines.. but most of the information
is dumb downed, in fact, it usually looks like
a form letter that has been automatically generated.
These "online" inserts usually consist of 1.) don't
let children take your medicine 2.) if you miss your
dosage do/do not try to make up for it. 3.) don't
drink a quart of vodka with the medicine etc.
Can anyone help me with this? surely there has to be
some kind of regulation that this information is made
available to the public. I have spent five hours now
looking, all to no avail. I couldn't even find it online
at the FDA website.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi,
I'm a PharmD student and I have access to a database of online monographs.
If you just post the names of your medicines here I can get you the info you
need.
If you don't wanna do that, you can try http://www.rxlist.com/
<---Excellent site

Lots of good info at: http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cder/drugsatfda/
some more at: http://www.fda.gov/cder/consumerinfo/default.htm
Also, many companies will have their package inserts posted online at the
company website.

PPI's are not normally distributed with the drugs as there is generally only
1 per bottle and that is left attached for the pharmacist for reference if
needed. Some drugs comes with multiple PPI's to hand out but 99% don't. If
you asked your pharmacy for a PPI on the drugs you are taking I am sure
they would give you one of each that you asked for. They just end up
throwing them away anyway.
