What's the job market for a person with a pharmacy degree?
Approximately how long is a Master's degree program in Pharmacy,
including say for someone one with Chemistry degree background (no
Biochemistry course taken and in fact, weak in organic chemistry which
can be reviewed and retaken)?
What will be the job market 3-3 1/2 years from now (want to know if I
start the progrm this fall)?
I am seriously thinking to join (I will only join Master's program)
but need to consider thoroughly due to health. I probably made a
mistake of going to Computer field which I did and graduated in summer
2003 with a CIS degree because I didn't want to study much, I mean,
Organic chemistry, Biochem, etc. but I realized that I love chemistry
as each day passes.
Note: I do not want to work in Chem industry anymore nor can I teach
cus I need to stay away from the strong and subtle smells of chemiscal
due to the type of Rhinitis I have.
In summary, I need a job that will have a stable job market and also
won't have to keep studying all the time like with cmputer field +
sitting all the time is not good for health.

To practice as a pharmacist, you will need a 4 yr PharmD. Your chem background
wont shorten the time, but may allow you to place out of a few courses. You can
probably finish the prereqs over the next year. The field is pretty secure but
will take 5 yrs. if you apply for 2005. There are masters degrees in
pharmaceutical sciences but these wont allow you to practice as a pharmacist. I
just remembered there are a handful of 3 yr programs too so at best you will be
done in 2008.
