Hi all
My mother is 62 and have been suffering from RLS since she was in her
teens. It has only been diagnosed a few years ago. To date, the GP
she is seeing gave her benzo's to take at night (when the RLS is at
its worst) and some anti-inflammatories. Needless to say, according
to her, the medication is not working.
I've read up on carbidopa and levidopa and I know she has not been
prescribed that before (apparently that has also been used in studies
with great success) . Her current GP says there is nothing he can do
for her anymore!!??? Surely there must be other options. I asked my
GP about this and he gave her a prescription for Rivotril
(clonazepam). She says that it is one of the only meds that has
helped so far. But she also said she does not want to take it every
day as one can become dependant on it.
Are there any other medications beside benzo's and NSAI's that she can
use??

I've used quinine sulfate, calcium carbonate and magnesium. This helped me
tremendously.
My RLS goes along w/the lupus, fibro, etc
