Nausea and vomiting are well-known side-effects of opiod treatment, as
Duragesic is.
I don't understand why your doctor wants to treat you with Duragesic, which
is one of the most potent opiods ever made. Have you been treated with other
painkillers that did not work, or had the same side-effects?
Your doctor is either a lying SOB, or a person who doesn't know his hand
from his arse . If he sincerely does not know, that fentanyl can cause
nausea and vomiting, he shouldn't be practising medicine at all!
Ask him to get you an anti-emitic, or to get milder opiod.

I tried milder opioids (vicotyn), and non-opioids (neurontin, ultram,
elavil) first. None of them was controlling the pain, or would control it
long enough. He wanted to try something more long-acting.
I have read a little, and read that vicotyn is a "hydrofilic" opioid, while
duragesic is a "lipofilic", and wondered if that made some important
difference?
This is for FMS pain.
I am back to Ultram and Soma, which aren't working all that well, but am
quite nervous about trying other opioids.
thanks.
