Is this drug approved for use in the USA?

Could anybody give me an update about Quinacrine? I read on a 1998
article that it's not approved for use in the United States because of
the possible dangers, including cancer:

Anybody knows if Quinacrine is now approved in the USA? If no, when
will it be approved in your opinion?

It's not currently marketed in the US, though it once was. Here's some good
