We're still here. There is a lot of cross posting going on from support

Okay... here's a question for everyone with a pharmacy license. A local
doctor was recently killed in a car accident. He had a solo neurology
practice. He wrote a lot of controlled drugs. A patient came in with a
prescription for dextroamphetamine written abut a week before he died. Is
the rx still valid?

Can't help you with the answer to this question; however, I will pose
one of my own. What are amphetamines still prescribed for? I know
that at some point they served, and perhaps still do, a purpose in the
treatment of ADHD. What are the major complaints?
Ok, here's another: how many of you pharmacists out there are
hospital-based. How many of you round with the staff? What role do
you play? (i.e., other than the obvious one :) How/do you interact
with the patient? Just a curious medicinal chemist,

A few years ago the Maryland Board of Pharmacy addressed this specific
question because of a similar situation... IT was an "opinion" only on
their part.!
Yes the RX was legal... and valid ! no difference then the
Physician being on vacation in another part of the world... However
since the Physician was now NOT practicing medicine any prescriptions
he had written could not be filled with the addition of additional
refills as indicated and any prescriptions that were filled prior to his
death could only be refilled ONCE (if legal) even if they had 3 4 or 5
refills remaining...
