An elderly relative sent a holiday card in which
she mentioned that her ailing husband is about to
begin therapy involving an experimental drug that
she spelled "mentendine".  I didn't even know
her husband was sick so I'm trying to get a clue
about what his condition might be, but I have so
far had %100 failure from all attempts to track
down any references to "mentendine" on the WWW,
even with some fairly wild alternate spellings.
Does this ring a bell with anybody here?

Memantine, perhaps? Brand name is Namenda. It's not experimental as it has
been approved by the FDA and is supposed to be available in the US
sometime in January. It has been available in some European countries for
many years.
