Sorry to post this here but I searched everywhere but couldn't find an
answer!!

Does anyone know if 'Tagamet / Cimetidine' is available in Australia
OTC without a prescription.

It worked wonders for my girlfriends condition, but I've read it is
available in some countries OTC. We have tried other medications but this
one seemed to work the best.

Any info on its availability  in Australia would be much appreciated
as I don't like seeing my lovely lady in distress.

I know I can take her to the doctors for a prescription, but where we live
is VERY remote and its a 120km trip each way.

Even any links to Tagamet / Cimetidine schedule status here in Australia
would be much appreciated.
If we can get it OTC then I imagine I would be able to get it from an
on-line pharmacy rather than a 240km round trip to doctors & chemist.

Any help greatly appreciated

Before the internet, there was the telephone. Before the telephone, there
was the human foot walking. Telephone, or visit, one of your local
pharmacies, and I'm sure you'll get the answer instantly as to the OTC
status of cimetidine in Australia.

Cimetidine has been OTC in the United States for years now. Another class of
acid-blocking medication, the proton pump inihibitor Prilosec, will be OTC
here in September.
