I was wondering how some of you handle waiting vs call back prescriptions
baskets?
closepins?

thanks for your help

Different colored bags.... .and different boxes...

But almost everything is processed when they are presented or dropped off
then    the will call later Rx are filed in the boxes  according to time of
pick up time and I start processing noon pick ups at 10 am (2 hours prior to
pick up time) and will not even look at the 1 PM will call backs until 11 AM
...goal is to have all the will calls done at least an hour before they are
scheduled to be picked up..and NOT hold up the waiters...

I am now semi retired but this method gave me at least 10 minutes every hour
of the workday to oversee the operation of the front of the store etc...
since I was the manager of the entire operation not just the Rx counter...

Unfortunately voice mail and electronic Rx's have completely distroyed the
ability to plan your own workload every day...just when is Mrs. Smith going
to pick up the Rx that justr popped into the computer??? who knows...in 5
minutes or 5 days ???
