Theraputic Level of Lithium

Given: 88 year old female with lithium level of 0.2. Recommended level is
0.5. Is the .03 delta significant or is this much like horseshoes... close
enough?

I suppose it depends upon the functional activities of the patient...
If she is doing well in ADLs, not psychotic and so forth, then the
medicine is doing its job.
I get amused at physicians who mindlessly do valproic acid levels on
non-seizure disorder patients and titrate up just because the lab test
tells them to.
