Hello, all you wonderful pharmacists out there!!!! Clinical
pharmacists, you guys are life-savers; retail pharmacists, you guys
are just plain wonderful to chat w/ while waiting for my meds to get
filled. Anyway, I've got a question:
I want to be an internist --more specifically, a hematologist/
oncologist, or a C&L immunologist, or maybe even both-- when I grow up
--currently I'm 16, and'll be starting my freshmen year of college in
the summer--, and I've been wondering, if I gave my outpatient, who's
suffering from tinea pedis a prescription of "six months oral
ultramicrosized griseofulvin, 1.5mcg/mL serum level, pharmacy to
dose", would his/her community pharmacy fill it, or call me up?
Thanks!!!!!
Doug

Let's say the patient's 160lbs, 6'2", hematocrit of 45%. How would you
calculate the dosage? Or do you need more info?
Thanks!!!!

yes...
according to the order a specific "serum level" is indicated
thus...daily or more frequent blood levels must be done

So the retail pharmacist would cal me up and say "Hey Dr, this isn't a
hospital! I need you to write out a dosage and a frequency!" But what
would a hospital pharmacist do?
