DSI
DIGNITY, SELF-RESPECT, AND INTEGRITY!

FIRST INTERNATIONAL MEETING OF

The Pharmacy Alliance

April 19 & 20, 2008
Holiday Inn On The Beach
San Luis Resort Galveston Complex
Galveston, Texas, US

The Purpose of The Pharmacy Alliance is to foster conditions that will allow dignity, self-respect and integrity in the personal, professional and working lives of all pharmacy practitioners.

TPA welcomes pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy interns.  Our emerging principles, which we call The Bowl, might include dealing with such issues as:

"    De-institutionalization
"    Working conditions
"    Wages
"    Vacations
"    Professional issues
"    Malpractice
"    Harassment
"    Robbery
"    Drug Diversion
"    Coupons
"    What a pharmacist will do and will not do

Unlike traditional pharmacy associations, TPA will have a flat management model, not a pyramid.   Members will have easy access to officers. We will keep it simple. We want action, not wordy resolutions!

DUES:  pharmacist $110.00; technician $35.00; student $30.00. Dues includes a copy of
The Pharmacy Alliance Source Document.  Send dues (make checks payable to: The Pharmacy Alliance) to:

Myron Bryant, R.Ph., Treasurer
The Pharmacy Alliance
1005 Cages Bend Court
Gallatin, TN  37066

Our Web site is currently in development. Once it is operating, we will accept dues
through PayPal.

The check is in the mail, or at least will be this evening.  I have
posted a blog comment at pharmtopics.com with links to your yahoo pages.
If I get an approval from Paul, I will post a link to his email address.

I have to confess that I am no longer plagued by these working
conditions.  AS some who know me already are aware, I no longer practice
real pharmacy and have not done so since the mid 1980's.  My interest is
pharmacy work design, a topic I was "forced" into by my graduate
committee when the committee chair, who knew my love of data systems,
resigned and the new chair was a human factors person.  SInce being
"forced" into this topic I have found a real interest in the idea of
work design in retail pharmacy.  It is about time some of the systems
problems be addressed.
