Nobody answered this, so I'll just tell you what I do. I don't
know if it makes a difference to separate taking probiotics and
antibiotics, but that's what I have done when taking antibiotics,
because it seems to make sense. If I take antibiotics with
meals, 3x/day, I eat yogurt with live cultures and/or take
probiotic pills about 2 hours after the meal. I have usually
managed to avoid diarrhea with this routine. YMMV.

Thanks FurPaw...I guess there aren't a lot of pharmacists left in this group
anymore, or they have lost interest (no one answered my taking pills with
prune juice or prunes either). You can see some comments I received (and
countered to) in the sci.med newsgroup (on both subjects) if you care to
take the time.
And no comments on my sucralfate contraindication with PPI's either, which
was a very legitimate question, which I explained in detail.
