CVS not paying its pharmacists; giving them the run-around

I am a pharmacist at CVS and have had problems with getting paid for
the past several months.  My paychecks are either grossly inaccurate
or I just completely don't get them.  Other pharmacists at my branch
are experiencing the same problem.  Our management basically gives us
the run around point the finger at payroll (which is based out of the
Phillipines), and payroll points the finger at management.  This has
been an ongoing problem for much too long for it to be a simple
"mistake."

I was wondering if anyone else out there working for CVS has heard or
is themselves experiencing the similar problems.

Thanks

I don't know what state you are in. In California there is a state agency
that takes the kind of shenanigan very seriously. I don't think it is just
because they get lowered income tax.

Why put up with this crap. There are many pharmacy jobs out there, all of
you should just leave and go work for somebody else. Start looking.  For a
pharmacist that kind of employer intimidation is just unacceptable.

Just for fun, to broaden my resume, etc., etc., I did a little casual
moonlighting at CVS in the winter/spring a year ago.  Maybe 2-4 days a
month.  Gave it up when summer came.

I never had any problems with paychecks. In fact, somehow I managed to
forget to cash one of my paychecks!  I was completely unaware of this,
until a couple of weeks ago when CVS wrote me a letter offering to
re-issue the check!  I'd say CVS has (had?) a good payroll system, and I
bet your problems are regional, rather than national.  Of course, maybe
things have changed.

I would have to search for that. You can do that as easily as I. I am pretty
sure that it is in the State Department of Labor.

I am retired and never worked for CVS  BUT I did manage for a chain...
managed the entire store (front and  Rx).  Yes I screwed up a few
times and so did Payroll...but the enployee never walked out to door
without his pay even if I had to use the stores Petty Cash...

Who cares who is to blame Management is responsible to see that you
get paid...and paid correctly... If they are not doing their job This
old fart would have chew their a.ses..  It is a PISS POOR manager that
does not takle care of ALL his Staff  from the lowest clerk on up...

Whoa, now there's an idea that might get their attention.  If they don't
pay you, just take $500 or whatever out of the till. Of course, leave a
signed note that it is to cover your wages.  What are they going to do?
Fire you?  So what, if they're not paying you, what's the difference?
Think they'll arrest you for theft?  Let them, the local tv stations
would love a story like that.

(A local person was getting faxes from a medical clinic, with patient
info.  The person called the clinic several times, saying they did not
want to receive the faxes, and the clinic should stop the mistake, but
they only got a run around from the clinic.  So they went to a tv
station.  A story on the evening news got some action out of the
clinic.)

As the Manager... I considered PAYING the employees  (or giving them a
good portion of their unpaid pay) from petty cash a legitimate use of
petty cash...

Honestly I did not have to do this very often BUT NEVER had to explain
WHY to any "Stupid"visor or Corporate Bean Counter...   BTW there is a
difference between taking money from a Register (even with a note) and
making a disbursment from Petty Cash from the Safe..

I worked for CVS a few years ago as an intern for 2 months at
Thanksgiving and Christmas, but didn't get paid until nearly the
following summer - after I threatened to quit (which I did - and went
to Rite Aid). I am sorry to hear that you are having the same problems
that I did as well as apparently many others. Who knows if CVS will
ever get the hint.
