Hi whats a good rapid acting medication for putting you to sleep to
overcome severe anxiety relating to MRI and CAT scan please do NOT
mention Xanax or Valium and Loreazapam (Ativan) they have very little
effect on me
As for contraindictions I will of course clear your suggestions with
Doctors first.
Help appreciated,

Not sure what other meds to recommend (maybe clonazepam) but they are all
the same class so...
What worked for me though and for many others is to wear a blindfold without
metal in it. Don';t even look at the machine but put the blindfold on
before you even go into the room. Have someone lead you to the table. For
most people, it is the closed in feeling that is axiety provoking
hope this helps

Hi Heidi,
I've just gone through both test, and all I did was close my eyes before I
was pulled into the machine. When I had the MRI, I mentioned it to my
Cardiologist and he gave me a prescription for a pill, don't know if it
helped or not. I also just had a Pet Scan(2 of them) that was fast in the
machine though. They are looking for a reason for my weak legs. There are so
many Myositis it can be..
The test aren't as bad as you are lead to believe..so don't worry about
them, just close your eyes and try to think of something pleasant....good
luck....Nel
