Hi,

I think you should narrow it down somewhat. Now, it's like asking for the
role of wood in construction, or of water in shipping. You could think of
cellulose and lactose as excipients, glucose as a sweetener, mannitol as an
osmotic diuretic. Just a few examples to get you started.
