I am currently taking Vytorin 10/40 and have experienced weight gain and
fluid retention. Have also experienced sore neck muscles and some
difficulty swallowing. Stop taking Vytorin for a week and the side effects
go away. Has anyone else in the group experienced any of these side effects
while taking Vytorin? If so, did you stop taking the drug or switch to a
lower dose?

I was taking Vytorin 10/20 for about a year and just started a new
dosage of 10/40 for about two weeks now. I have noticed a muscle knot
in my calf and my neck is a little stiff. Nothing else has changed
recently so I am wondering if its indeed the increase to 10/40. I
will be discussing with my doctor shortly.

This is also not likely, though not impossible. The kind of muscle pains
involved in Statins are not similar to this descrption and have other
symptoms as well.
