I have read a great deal about Zostavax, the new shingles vaccine.
Only one problem - nobody seems to have it. In fact half of the
doctors and hospitals I've called don't even know it exists.
I've called Merck. After getting shuffled around to six different
phone numbers they finally told me they have no way of knowing what
providers have ordered the vaccine.
This is so frustrating.
I live near Boston, the hub of cutting edge medical care and still
can't find it.
Has anyone in the Boston area gotten this vaccination? Can you tell me
where?
Thanks

Sorry to say, I couldn't find any of my wholesalers that even have it
listed. Merck telling you that don't know who they have sold it to is pure
BS. They are required to keep detailed records of every vial.
Good luck.

I just inquired of my doctor about the vaccine. His response was very
succint. It is available as a 10-dose package, probably not covered by many
insurance plans, and will cost the patient about $180 per shot.
As a result, many physicians are not willing to stock it.
