Hi

A friend of mine has started on Etanercept - one of the relatively new
TNF alpha receptors drugs.

It's very temperature labile, and needs to be kept between 2 and 8
degrees Celcius (it's an IM injectable drug).

This is fine when she's at home with a fridge, but when travelling,
it's all of a bit of a race against time. Thermoses are OK, but only
work for a few hours, and the temperature can be somewhat unpredicable.

I can imagine something only a little more clever that could maintain
the temperature more accurately. In view of her rheumatoid arthritis -
the thing can't be very heavy.

Would really appreciate it if anyone has suggestions!

Why not one of those little "peltier chip" based fridges? They look like a
softdrink cooler. Hook it to 12volts and you have a fridge?

I think by the sound of things, the OP implied his/her friend didn't
have access to a car socket - that would certainly make things easier.
Probably travelling on train or some such thing.
