When I mentioned that I started to use an over-the-counter Afrin like nasal
spray to one of my physicians, he suggested using Flonase because it did not
have a rebound effect. Is there an OTC inhaler that would work well without
a rebound? I have used saline inhalers. They help but are not very effective
for really bad congestion.

I find that low room temperature really contributes to my congestion.

not really...if you are going to use one...find the afrin 12 hour
formula...you won't have to use it as much......but none of them should
be used more than 3-5 days

I found, so far, that I can get away with one squirt in each nostril once a
day before going to bed. That is about 1/4 of the maximum recommended dose.
I can also try using saline solution when it works.
