I'd spend a few days at the standard "official" dose, just to see if
there's a difference, before tapering down. You have worked this out
with your doctor, haven't you? You shouldn't just up and quit on your
own.
Assuming you and your doctor are in sync, then you should taper very
slowly, over weeks. Paxil has a particularly nasty reputation for
withdrawal effects.
