Hello:

Are there time limits on filling prescriptions? My wife has Multiple
Sclerosis and takes pain medication when needed for it.  She has a
prescription from November 2005 for her pain medication.  If it is brought
to our local pharmacy can it be filled?

Thanks,

P

It varies by individual State....as Jason indicated
Maryland requires an Rx be filled within 120 days (4 Months)..

It may depend on the state that your in, and if the medication is a
controled substance. For a non controlled substance in NY. you can fill
the Rx upto one year of the issue date.  You 3rd party plan may have
other limitations.  I would suggest to see her MD to issue a newly
dated Rx, that should save you some hassle
