I was curious,can any pharmacist(or knowledgeable
people)tell me whether Ultram
(Tramadol w/out the acetaminophen) is a scheduled prescription?I have to
really watch my
tylenol intake, because my liver has seen it's better days.Oh,by the way
while I am here,does
any one know if OxymorphoneER(numorphan made into a oral sustained
release painkiller),
is any where near the release stage?I believe it's a project between
Penwest and Endo.
Any ways thanks in advance for any answers

In the US, tramadol is not currently classified as a control substance.

Tramadol is NOT a controlled substance. I know because my mother
takes it for her arthritis pain.
Last year Ultram went generic. What do you bet they decided to add
some Tylenol to it and call it Ultracet just so they could get some
more years of patent protection and big profits.

Maybe they will make it timed released, invent a new salt of it, or anything
to extend the patent. Its Nexium Time!
It does not make sense to me how the government encourages companies to add
Tylenol to all the pain medication. (For instance, by making plain codeine
tablets harder to prescribe than Tylenol No. 3 ) For instance, codeine by
itself is a safer drug than Tylenol with Codeine. Tylenol with codeine is
as addictive as plain codeine without any Tylenol. Why expose people to the
drug Tylenol that is toxic at a dose of around 4 grams per day?
Some of the addicts of Vicodan you hear about are taking so many tablets
that it looks like the Tylenol in it would eventually kill them.
