I was thinking of a future profession and in my local paper there was
an article about pharmacists. I decided to look into it but I haven't
been able to figure out much. I live in Michigan so U of M is the
likely school of choice for me. I get all A's in school. Math and
science come pretty easily to me...

I just have some general questions to all pharmacists(these are just a
few):

1. What type of pharmacist are you?
2. What degree did you get and how many years did it take you to get
it?
3. Could you explain the types of chemistry you took? Organic?
Qualitative?
4. Did you have to do lots of labs?
5. Was there anything extra you did before college regarding pharmacy?
Shadow?
6. What do you do?  What is it exactly that you are learning?  What
does your job entail?

Those are just a few for right now.  You may answer questions
separately or together.  My most important questions are #3,4 b/c my
chem teacher always talks about his brutal chem classes and labs he had
in college.  I am taking just a general chem class now and I understand
it fairly well(my friend helps me a lot,though)...Math shouldn't be a
problem.  I plan to take physics and calculus in my senior year.  For
#6...just give it your best answer.

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps me out. It is much appreciated!
Write as much as necessary.

By the way, if this is the wrong forum could someone direct me to the
correct one.

PharmD. It took 2 years undergrad and 4 years in grad school

Most pharmacy schools require general chemistry 1,2 and labs, organic
chemistry 1,2 and labs before entering graduate program.  Beside
chemistry, you also need bio 1,2 plus labs, microbio + lab, physics +
lab, and other non-science courses.
Once in graduate program, you'll be taking biochemistry (no lab),
microbiology 1,2 (no lab), anatomy and physiology (no lab,
understanding how your body functions) , pharmacology, dynamics
(understading how drugs work) , pharmaceutics plus labs,
pharmacokinetics....and many more.

Explained above.

Got a job at a retail to see what it was like and to get experience for
admission purpose
