My doctor has proscribed Advair for a mild yeast infection in my
esophogas. It came in liquid form. I am using Advair which possibly
is the cause of the yeast infection.
My question: should I first rinse the liquid nystatin in my mouth and
THEN swallow it, OR, should I simply swallow the medication without
rinsing?.
best, Aaron

True esophageal candidiasis is rare from inhaled steroid use in
non-immunosuppressed patients. Oral thrush (candidiasis)on the other hand
is rather common. I am not sure that nystatin is enough to treat
esophageal candidiasis without some other form of antifungal.
