Why don't other states accept CA and FL licenses? Rphs who move to FL
only need to take the MPJE part. Rphs who want to move out of FL must
sit in for NAPLEX and MPJE plus whatever else required in that
particular state ? Why IS IT? It's unfair :(

LOL....
I am now retired...BUT maybe 25 years ago (when I was young) I paid
$1,000 just to get a Florida Lic. because I could not reciprocate to
Florida... Not sure about now...but 25 years ago Florida was a royal
pain in the a.s to reciprocate to because old farts like me would
retire and move to Florida and would be willing to work for peanuts
one day a week to get out of the house ... thus "we" lowered the
going pay scale for younger Florida Pharmacist who were trying to
raise a Family...
Califoirnia at the time (most likely still does) had Pay scales that
were a heck of a lot higher then anywhere else in the country...and
at one time higher educational requirements also...
Blame the State Boards for trying to protect the incomes of Floridas
Pharmacists... do not blame the other 48 States...
Just my opinion...based on very old information...And I stopped
renewing my Florida Lic 15 or so years ago for reasons I really do not
remember...

You have it wrong. Florida will not reciprocate any other states'
pharmacy licenses. Any pharmacist seeking a Florida license must take
the NAPLEX & MPJE. Hence, no other states will reciprocate a Florida
license. Due to the closing of the PBM I worked for in NJ last year, I
was considering relocating within the company to its Florida facility or
changing companies and going to Arizona. For Florida I needed to take
the Naplex & MPJE. For Arizona I just took the MPJE & went there.

You do indeed have it all wrong. FL won't license via reciprocity, so
other states (at least Ohio) won't accept FL credentials. Ohio will
accept a CA license as long as the NAPLEX was taken post 1/1/2004.
Otherwise, Ohio reciprocates with all other states.

There are a couple of different requirements to become licensed in FL
depending on degree and years worked. For some, you do need to retake
the NAPLEX. I was licensed in FL just a few years ago. I didn't
retake the NAPLEX. Just the MPJE and the 2 CE's (medical error and
HIV).

>>You do indeed have it all wrong. FL won't license via reciprocity,
Florida granted some kind of amnesty to pharmacists who had graduated
after a certain year; in other words recent graduates. You must have
fallen into that category. I'm not sure if this exception still exists.
