It helps the withdrawal, but IMO, it does nothing to stop the ultimate
reason you started using to begin with. I used it to come off methadone
and used the bark. The dosage was way too high and i had flashing
lights in  my visual field for 3-4 weeks afterwards. But I went right
back to dope. While Ibogaine may have potential in some people, it is
far from a cure. You still crave opiates after using it.

Have you triend buprenorphine? This works well off of short acting
opiates like heroin, but does not seem to wrok well off of methadone
insofar as it causes withdrawal that are fairly severe because it is
difficult to get to severe withdrawal before taking it (as this may
take 4-7 days.) But again the problem of craving always seems to
return.
