Does anyone know the advantage of cortisone acetate over prednisone?
Yesterday I received a prescription for cortisone acetate, and when
asked if it was OK to use prednisone in stead, the nurse insisted tha
it had to be cortisone acetate

There is not much diffrerence between the two drugs as they are both
glucocorticoids with the same mechanisms of action.

Prednisone is more potent on a mg per mg basis in its glucocorticoid
activity, and has less mineralocorticoid effect than cortisone.
