Serzone and liver

How likely is it to get liver damage from
taking Serzone for a few months?  I hesitate
to ask the litigation sites as they give
hyperbolic statistics.  This is a case where
there is a history of hepatitis and a gall bladder
operation *after* the Serzone treatment.  At the
time of prescribing the drug, the FDA said 1 in
250,000 got liver damage.  What concerns me is
the coincidence of wasting and grey complexion
after this drug (it was stopped after a few months).
The weight loss is about 35% and it looks like
muscle wasting.

I'm wondering if a gastro check up is not in order.
The doctor diagnoses it as depression, and with
a new drug in the works now, if weight gain
begins perhaps there is nothing to worry about.

Thanks

The switch from a minimum (perhaps inadequate) imipramine
dose, to a relatively higher desipramine dose, is
showing signs of weight gain effect -- the wasting may
have been depression, but nothing is certain yet. IMHO,
X is still undertreated for depression - maybe needs
a stimulating adjunct like an SSRI on top - not sure.
But it is heartening to see an increase in sleep and
appetite.
