I thought I would inform anyone interested
that I survived a crash from the generic
version of lithium (after about 4 months).
I sank into mixed states and almost killed
myself.  My dr. put me on the old VALEANT
strong preparation.  All doubt about dose
(900mg) and bipolar condition, has been
removed.

I would have liked to know what the dose
on the generic was to let me sink into the
abyss - it was very close to suicide -- and
also if it was the dose or counerfeit drugs.

In any case, I survived it and i post that
here because the outcome is only on my Yahoo
group history.

Sorry, but what the brand generic of Lithium that you were
on?   You might want to contact the manufacturer and
tell them about it...with a vengence.   A couple of weeks ago I sent
numerous letters
to Cephalon Pharmaceuticals telling them of the disaster
I had when on Gabitril.   If this happens to enough people...class action
lawsuit!

Glad you see you're still around.

Hi DWM,

I did write them a letter to tell them, after writiing them
a letter to report how wonderful it was to have NO
LITHIUM SIDE EFFECTS on that preparation.
I told them I had to go back to the other one *pronto*
as bipolar mania/depression came back with a fury.
I've not heard from them - maybe they called and
I did not get the message.  I found it a bit odd that
when I went to renew that particular brand (just before
the crash) the clerk said they had ran out of it,  "it
was out of stock", "it was the old, orginal".  And they
gave me Apotech, but by this point I was so nervous
about the drug that I called my dr. and got the original
from another pharmacy.

I don't really know what happened.  All's well that
ends well.
