I bought some breath spray which contains OraSan (benzalkonium
chloride).

OraSan is supposed to work by delivering oxygen to volatile sulfur
compounds (on the tongue) and neutralizing them.  It seems to be
effective.

Why does OraSan work better for this than other household oxidants
such as hydrogen peroxide or diluted laundry bleach?

Diluted laundry bleach!!!????!!!  I don't think I would ever
recommend that for anything oral, even just a rinse.  Had an
uncle that accidentally drank bleach once, his wife had placed
a container of it in the refrigerator, right next to bottle of
water, no label, same bottle...wasn't a pleasant experience
for him.  As for why OraSan may or may not work better, I have
no experience with this product.  I have sold AmoSan, a powder
to mix and rinse with.  Basically, it remains active longer
than diluted hydrogen peroxide, as Amosan contains glyoxide.
But, if you dilute hydrogen peroxide 50/50 with water, that
works quite nicely for oral rinse agent, use it 2 or 3 times
daily.

Ooops, guess I should mention that GlyOxide is a brand of
carbamide peroxide...I forget that a lot of times we no longer
deal with just brands anymore!

we used drops of clorox bleach for drinking water disinfectant and vegetable
washing when diluted. The problem is when using a lot straight.
