I am trying to do a very slow taper off zyprexa. The smallest I can cut
the smallest pill, 2.5mg, is into 4ths. I need to go smaller than that
in order to do a responsible taper. Someone suggested to me that I
create a liquid titration of zyprexa in boiling water and reduce that
way. Does anyone know reasons why this might not work? Has anyone done
it before?
thanks.

Why do you have to taper to such small doses? Are you exhibiting withdrawal
effects, or do your symptoms come back when you discontinue the drug too
fast?

boiling a drug doesn;t make much sense. it probably will be useless
however, withdrawl from zyprexa? how do you describe withdrawal symptoms?
Are the symptoms of your disease coming back?

No, these are NOT symptoms of my "disease" coming back. These are
withdrawal symptoms--vomiting, for example, that has nothing to do with
my "disease", which was misdiagnosed to begin with. I should never have
been put on an antipsychotic!

I have a suggestion. Crush a tablet in a kitchen mortar, using the
accompanying pestle. Crush gently -- do not pound. Then add powdered sugar
and mix well. Remove this mixture with a spatula from the mortar, and you
can then divide this in halves, quarters, eights, etc. This way you can get
the dose you want, provided it is in units of one-half each time. Good
luck.
