I'm not sure where to post this, but I thought I'd try here first.
I was just helping my mom clean out a closet, and we found my
grandfather's notebook from around 1922. As a pharmacist at that time,
he was expected to (and did) create his own products in the drug store,
and the notebook is filled with his personal, hand-written recipes for
pharmacy drugs.
I imagine such a journal could be of interest to someone studying the
history of pharmacy. But I don't know where to find such a person.
Any suggestions?

Might try contacting the state board of pharmacy in the state
you live in. Also, various pharmacy schools actively maintain
some sort of "museum" of pharmacy days-gone-by.

Thanks, Glenn, this is an interesting suggestion, I'll see what I can
do about following up.

Would you be able, or willing, to transcribe one of the pages of this
notebook for us to read? We might be able to guide you in its value or
interest.

Not at the moment--it's still in my mother's possession.
I infer that the range of possibilities is too broad to give a
meaningful response without at least an example of the contents--is
that what you mean? If you can give me an idea of what these
possibilities are, I could take further action.
thanks,

My dad who owned a Pharmacy for years also kept such a notebook. The drug
store he originally worked in had their own patient medicines which they
made up and sold. I have a telegram from the company that made the
sulfanilamide elixir with the antifreeze (propylene Glycol) for a vehicle.
I believe that recall sparked the passage of the Food and Drug act of 1938
or something like that. My Pharmacy history is rusty.
