I hope someone is reading this right now; I take Zostrix-HP for
arthritis in my knee. I am a 43 year old divorced woman with an evil
younger sister who decided to put some Zostrix on my(what is the PC
word for vibrator?) Well I said it anyway. My local pharmacy where I
get Zostrix closes at 6 p.m. on Sunday. I am burning; badly I might
add. I have been soaking in a cold bath which is not bringing relief.
I hope someone can give me some advice before my 9 a.m. meeting
tommorrow or it will be doozy. Now if you excuse me I need to serve my
sister her eviction papers. I actually thought of going to the E.R.
but I could not bring myself to sign in with "Divorced woman burns
self with Zostrix coated vibrator".

This sounds like the guy who burnt himself when his girlfriend gave him a
hand job after she was cutting chillis.

As the resident expert on capsaicin, I think the same things apply to you
as did to him. Its not particularly toxic, it may hurt, but it'll go
away. The pain shouldn't get worse, and slowly get better. Washing with
soap should help, and so might massage with olive oil, or some other
cooking oil (which should then be thoughly washed off).

Yes I am that guy. Maybe I was dating your sister! I hope you found some
relief. I poured milk on myself but since I have outside plumbing and you
have inside plumbing I am not sure how you would accomplish it. Milk did
bring relief the next day though I was warm for several days after.
Unfortuneately I am not the right person to talk to about this--it has made
me crazy :( But do put milk and yogurt it will bring relief and is supposed
to break down the capsaicin oil. We can only guess what is in store for your
sister.

That must have been one hell of a hand job, maybe that is why my
husband left me--too boring too routine :-) Are you ok? Well I did not
get this advice till three days later. I took an oatmeal bath the next
night and I felt some relief. I still feel a little "something" only
time will tell. I am not talking to my sister for those who are
wondering.

Way, way back when, there was a warning on 'warming' muscle creams that they
should not come in contact with water.

Is this still true?
