=======================================
I retired at 55 from Giant of Landover Md in 1998 and 10-12 years ago
there was a waiting list for Pharmacists to be employed by
them...absolutely a great company...BUT today I can no longer say it
is any better or worst then the rest...(I still work one evening a
week...and I see the difference... Therefore I am not even going to
recommend an employer...
However I worked my entire career in the Balto-Washington
area...Started at John Hopkins Hospital but switched to retail for the
money... And I can tell you in retail anyway the closer you get to
Washington DC the worst the customers get... I mean get 30 to 40 miles
away from DC in Virginia, or Maryland and you notice the difference in
a few minutes...get 50 to 70 miles away and it only takes 30 seconds
to notice the difference....
Salary approaching 100K should low 6 figures is common...But this area
is not the cheapest place to live in either...housing prices would
scare the hell out of me now...
Maryland is nicknamed Tax Land beware
living within DC is just not for me...plus you have no senator and the
one represenative you ellect to congress has NO VOTE... Weird
but DC residents pay taxes but get no real representation...
Virginia has personal property taxes....buy a new car and see how much
the state wants from you every year in taxes on that car...
LOL
Prersonally I know nothing about Texas except it is big, & they have
no State Income Taxes..etc....I question why you would want to
move...to the DC area from heven...
Enjoy and Best of lucjk to you
Bob Griffiths.
