Could someone recommend a reliable Canadian online pharmacy, prices
also being important to me.

Before I'd make a recommendation, I would first ask YOU a question!
What do you do for a living?  Where?  And, whatever it is, can I
find it more reliably and less expensively "online"?  TIA!

(working for a pharmacy which many so-called Canadian Internet
pharmacies direct their own patients too by the way!!)

Well I can't get my car repaired online or see my doctor online or get other
services like an electrician, plumber, carpenter, etc. Bulky and heavy items
like refrigerators, certain tools, etc. are cheaper locally due to the
expense of shipping. The gun dealers got the government to outlaw buying
firearms interstate. Now that didn't reduce crime with firearms but the
government still has the law. I don't think pharmacies will have luck with
that one as I don't know of anyone being killed from a foreign prescription.
But I can sure as heck trade stocks cheaper, buy a watch cheaper, get books
cheaper (not even a bookstore except Christian where I live), DVD's and
more.  I do live in a very rural area and if Wally World does not have it I
usually have to take an hour's trip into the nearest larger town.

Talk about online.  My son, who was in the Marines, gets a lot of medication
mailed to him from the VA Administration in Jackson, MS every month. I am
sure the amount of Rxs mailed out by the Veterans Administration must exceed
all the medication that the Canadian Pharmacies send into the USA.  Every Rx
he gets is one that could have been filled at my local pharmacy except the
government does not want to pay the regular pharmacy prices.

They are not legal prescriptions.
Or at least in Texas they are not - laws vary by state.
If intercepted by US Customs, those drugs would be confiscated and your
investment pissed away.

But if you live near the border, you can probably drive across to get
repairs. I don't know if you would save, but probably can. Maybe at Tijuana,
you might even save by getting parts from your previously stolen car.

I have personally used The Canadian Drugstore www.tcds.com 1-888-372-2252.
I had no problem with them:  I used to purchase Prilosec (Losec) and Celexia
from them without problems.  Now since the generics are available in the
United States I can get these drugs locally for a reasonable cost.

The Canadian Drugstore did dispensed both my medications in the factory pack
which had the manufacturer's name, lot #, expiration date, etc., and were in
dispensing packages like birth control pills. This made it easily to verify
that the medication was exactly what it was supposed to be, was not dropped
on the floor, and was made by the manufacturer that was supposed to have
made it.

Did you need an American's doctor's prescription?--if so--it seems to me
that it would be a real hassle to buy drugs from a Canadian pharmacy.

Yes.  I would have my doctor write a Rx for a months supply with five
refills and then FAX the Rx to The Canadian Pharmacy.  The Canadian Pharmacy
would then have a Canadian doctor write me a Rx for the exact same thing.
The Rx was labeled from a Pharmacy in B.C. and had a Canadian doctor's name
on it.  They do not sell medication without a doctor's Rx and they do not
sell control substances.  You have to register with them and provide a
detailed patient profile to do business with them.  They appear to be a
legit outfit, not like the ones that send spam about ordering Xanax, Valium,
etc., over the internet.  You can actually talk with a Pharmacist when you
call them if you need to.  BTW, you need a credit card to pay for the
medication.

While Canadian Pharmacies can sell drugs cheaper than the US keep in
mind that they are not as well regulated as US pharmacuticals.  There
medicines are not FDA approved and therefore not guaranteed to be pure,
safe, and effective. There are multiple FDA approved US online
pharmacies.

I am a Pharmacist, and I am a Sensior Citizen, and yes unfortunately
boith my wife and I use "drugs".. Legal of course...  Fortunately I
have a drug card in my wallet...  BUT I understand why most people
would like to buy online from Canadian Pharmacies...

I honestly do not buy the statement that Canadain Drugs are not as
safe as those sold here in the States... nor that they are not as
pure....  in my opinion thats plain BULL....

However since Health Canada caps the price of the "price" of drugs
the only clear cut solution for EVERY US Citizen would be for the US
to also cap the cost of drugs...

Doing this would however be a socialistic approach and would surely
not be in the spirit of a market driven economy... Health Canada PAYS
the bill for Rx Drugs...in this country you and I pay....and yes we
are paying thru the nose...

Just my thoughts....

I won't attempt to argue the pros and cons of the issue.  However, having
worked
in the pharmaceutical (manufacturing) industry (some of which in an
international division), I can state that it was generally acknowledged that
Canada's 'FDA' was more stringent than ours in many respects.

Do you believe that every time I get and consume a pharmaceutical from
Canada, I quake in my boots until I have survived a week on the new
shipment.

If so, I have a bridge over New York's East River that I am willing to sell
cheap.

It is an outrage that people like President Little Bush is giving capitalism
a bad name.

I have used

www.CanadaPharmacy.Com

several times and find them to be very reliable and their prices are comparably
low.

remember...you will need a script for any CAnadian pharmacy

just did a quick search...Pravachol 40 mg at Canada meds.com are $119 per 30

at Costco...they are $127 per 30

and you have to pay shipping for Canada

not enuf of a saving to make a difference

And if US Customs catches it you get nothing.

actually as long as you are importing NO more than 90 personal supply
...AND the med is not controlleld...US Customs has no issue...

you must be thinking of those "shady" online/offUSA soil that supply/sell
controlled stuff....

that for sure the customs dogs are after

Canada is a different story..

Actually it doesn't matter.
If they confiscate it, the buyer will never see it.
Whether thats the letter of the rule - thats reality.
Legitimate sometimes gets netted to get the non-legitimate.

that is not my experience...tho you are correct that IF they seize it...the
buyer will never see it

however...you may want to read the regs regarding bringing in "LEGAL"  meds
from Canada and Mexico...ie thje DEA

they clearly state that any American CAN import 90 days supply ..with a
script...of non controlled meds

they are NOT after your blood pressure meds...but controlled substances

let me know if you need documentation of the above

IF you think our customs and border guys have not enuf to do but to examine
and seize meds that the DEA states can be legally imported...you are
mistaken

just my h.o.....

I have not bought any prescription meds from Canada.  I get my Allegra
(12-hour) from Canadapharmacy.com and they are very competitive and do not
require a prescription.  My insurance does not cover Allegra (they want me to
use clarinex 24-hour) so I had to find another useful source.

ahhhh....Canada has moved Allegra to non prescription status

but I checked Costco.com

they aren't much more....but you will need a script

good luck
nospam@aol.com - 27 Apr 2005 04:38 GMT
I just checked Allegra and Pravachol at costco.com and they had nothing for
either one.  Am I doing something wrong?

I used to shop with tcds and have recently started with
http://www.canadasbestrx.com/ which is a pharmacutical shopping service
as opposed to a pharmacy. They have provided me with an acceptable
level of service and reliable delivery.
