Sadly, lack of self-esteem, being with a dominating male, or lack of
ability to negotiate safe sex (consider mental illness; poverty
issues) are all reasons that lead to unwanted sex/pregnancies.
One needs to be a pretty strong woman to make a pressuring male use a
condom. Esp. given women's weaker status in society.
Consider this: how many women get tubal ligations, wasting precious O.R.
time, when it is much (much!) safer & simpler to do vasectomy in a mere
doctor's office?
