I have heard that Red Yeast Rice, can be used instead of Lipitor, with
good results, and no side effects. Is that true? If so, I'd like to
switch.
Thanks for any responses.

Everything has side effects.
See lovastatin for side effect profile.
A reputable sourced red yeast rice lowers TOTAL cholesterol like other hmg
coA reductase inhibitors.
TOTAL meaning it lowers LDL and HDL.
Current wisdom is we want to lower LDL while raising HDL.

I've tried Red Yeast Rice--in helped a little bit but not much.
Provachol (a satin drug) helped a lot better to solve my problems.
Another thing that works great to clear out the arteries--running
or riding a bike 5 miles per day.
