Anyone see the new Fox (network) show "House" tonight? I just caught the end
of it, but they had a young guy on there that was real sick (in hospital), &
it turns out the guy had been taking ecstasy cut with colchichine? I think
I've heard of this (drug/chemical?), but am not familiar with it. I just
thought it was interesting, cuz the show's about an MD (?--I think) who
works in a clinic of some sort in the hospital where the other docs are, but
does not practice with the other teams of docs, & works on these 'freak'
cases that the other docs are having trouble with. The patient had bad
neurological problems & hair falling out, etc. (again, I caught the end, but
didn't hear the dx of the patient). The team of docs thought it was
something else, but Dr. House successfully solved the mystery illness by
figuring out the patient was taking XTC cut with colchicine. Anywho, just
thought it was interesting.

Why in the hell would anyone use colchicine as cut? Makes so little sense as
to be nonsense...

Still if I have learned anything it is that *anything* is possible.

If it is true...

Sick f.cks...

Oh well...

It is just a television show. The fictional Doc House (the central antihero)
in the closing shot is seen comparing actual pills of colchicine in the
hospital pharmacy.
Seemed pretty unlikely even for an eccentric Doc. There are books for that
job.

Yeah, who knows if it's really being done or not. Like you said, it's only
TV.

Indeed. I tend to discount anything the fox net shows.

fictional... well there you go.

Which of course makes absolutely no sense. Since ecstasy cut with colchicine
would look nothing like the tabs of colchicine.

Indeed.

Yeah, who knows. I ran a google on 'ecstasy & colchcine' & got plenty of
hits (no pun intended), but I didn't really research it.

they use colchicine in marijuana cultivation. They soak the seeds in
it to yield mostly female plants. They say its very dangerous.

I caught the season premier, & thought it was ok, & somewhat funny. I'll
watch it again & get another opinion after that.

Sounds like an apt description.
